because we are now 326 days away from the midterms, and we are headed straight for the

health care cliff. Today, the Senate could not pass an extension to Obamacare subsidies.

That means it is all but certain that premiums for millions of Americans will skyrocket

next year.

This is an urgent issue for those Americans who are dealing with plenty of other high costs.

Here's what Republican Senator John Cornyn said about what comes next.

My hope is if we're unsuccessful today in passing a rational substitute for this failed experiment in Obamacare

that we can have that conversation when we come back after Christmas and try to get serious about solving the problem.

So what you're saying is those premiums will skyrocket.

Well, they've already gone. The notices have already gone out.

Senator Cornyn of Texas says hopefully the Senate can get serious about health care after Christmas,

despite the premiums that are spiking now.

By the way, about 4 million Texans, that's his state, signed up for Obamacare coverage this year alone.

And experts are saying that more than 1 million Texans could lose their health care coverage if these subsidies expire.

what it's called. Back in 2009, Republicans, Republicans decided to start referring to it, President Obama's
