Shame is what happens when we allow the judgments of other people to change the way and the value we have on ourselves.

And then it makes us act like the opposite of the way that we would normally want to act.

We have to allow that in.

Are you ready to become an ignited hero? So I always talk about how shame is one of the deepest, most isolating, most

threatening emotions we can feel.

That sounds like a hyperbole kind of a thing.

But when you understand the origin of shame, you know, shame was this

emotional artifact, a tool used by people in very small groups to keep everybody in line.

What do I mean by keep everybody in line? Think about the fact that up until very recently,

and by that I mean a couple of thousands years ago we lived

in very small groups guys like 30 40 100 200 person groups were big back then right um and in those

groups everybody had a role everybody had something to do to make sure that the the tribe functions

we were all the same. You know, in some

tribes coloring yourself all over and getting tattoos and massive ear piercings was expected. And in other

tribes, you look like a crazy person doing it. Right. In some tribes, believing that God was

on top of that mountain and he rained down rain whenever
