The judge, Judge Hippler, has made decisions over the past week

that not only have pushed this case forward,

but have fast forwarded this case to a schedule that will have them starting to pick the jury on August 4th and clearly

pick the jury, start the voir dire process, and until a jury is fully seated, which we know

is 12 jurors, and in this case, Judge Hippler requested

there be eight alternates. So 12 jurors and eight alternates. And that's going to begin on

August 4th. And until the jury is seated, the defense and the prosecution will work on selecting a jury.

Why is this one of the most important things to do, especially with a capital case?

All of the people that will be filling out questionnaires, which is basically a pre-screening

document because certain people will just be

excluded based on what they write on the juror questionnaire. And then how many people will they

actually interview? And what type of questions will they be asking? What will the defense be asking? What will the prosecution be asking?

What type of person is the defense looking for? And what type of person is the prosecution looking for?

Two different types. And they will use their challenges to eliminate people that they feel are the type of person they want on this jury.
