Now before we get to this story, let's go back to November 17, 1968.

Football fans across the country, including my my father and he talks about

the sad nauseum he was watching the newer jets take on the Oakland Raiders

the jets are up by three 65 seconds left in the game NBC switched away from the game to its

scuttering programming, the children's movie, Heidi.

And TV viewers, they never actually saw the Raiders come from behind for the win

and again, to this day my father is bitter

about this cannot believe such a stupid decision but believe it or not that moment

that led to the NFL's Heidi rule now that's a clause that the league added to their TV contracts that

guarantees all games will be broadcast in their entirety in the home markets.
