Today's talk comes from Pastor Ben Stewart. Well a guy on our team made that video and I think did an amazing job with it and what I love about it is his heartbeat with that video

was not to show us all the what's of Christmas but to show us the why. And I think he

did that because we all know that great what happened because of great wise.

That we need something powerful to motivate us that will allow us to do powerful things.

And the reality is, I think often at Christmas,

we can focus on the what that happened.

Virgin Mother, Jesus in a womb, in a manger. and we can focus on some of these what but miss out on the why why

Did the son of God show up into our story what motivated him to come for you and for me? And so what I love

about this video is it's kind of leaning us into the why, the heartbeat of our

God tonight. And what's great is Jesus answered that question later in his

ministry. You get it in Luke chapter 15. Luke 15. Jesus is talking about

why he does what he does. The heartbeat that's motivated God the

father to send God the son. And in Luke 15 we're told in verse one now the

tax collectors and sinners were drawn near to him.

Tax collectors were people that exploited their political contacts for financial

gain. So the community saw them as traders, the community saw them as

people that were crooks and they didn't like them. They were the up and outs.

The sinners were the people who didn't have any allegiance to God and didn't have

allegiance to the community. I'm going to do what feels good for me, I'm going

for mine. And so the sinner was the person who would just go out and party,
