Today's talk comes from Pastor Ben Stewart. Well, when I was a kid, one Christmas, we spent Christmas Eve at my grandma's house.

And so my brother and I was sharing a room and we went to bed that night with

you know visions of sugar plums dancing in our heads or whatever thinking about

the gifts of the next morning. So you can imagine our surprise when we woke up

Christmas morning not to promises of gifts down the hall, but to a work boot

nestled into my ribs, pushing me up and down on the bed in rhythm with a voice going,

hey, hey, get up!

And I woke up and saw that it was my grandma's boyfriend, James.

And I watched him go over to my brother and do the same thing to my brother.

And then as he walked to the door he turned and said,

get dressed, get in a truck.

So we were like, okay, this isn't the Christmas morning either of us was expecting.

But we went ahead and got dressed and got in the truck and began to drive down the highway.

Now, James was like 100 years old at the time.

So as he was driving, he was breathing heavily,

like it was a real labor, just like,

hmm, and as he would do that,

the car would kind of slowly drift off the road into the side and start spraying gravel.

So as I was sitting in the middle of this truck seat, I would just periodically steer us back into safety.
