Today, we're diving deep into a case full of twist and turns that is unfolding right

now in a Massachusetts court.

This is one that has so many dimensions, it's going to show you a lot about what goes on

when somebody gets taken to trial for a serious, serious crime.

It's a story that began three years ago in Canton, Massachusetts, a suburban town located about 15 miles south of Boston. a place known for its small town charm, family-friendly atmosphere,

and access to both nature and urban conveniences.

In the early morning hours of January 29, 2022,

John O'Keefe, a 46-year-old Boston police officer, was found dead in a snowbank

outside his friend's home in this small town.

There had been a storm earlier that day, and temperatures had dipped below freezing.

John, a man described by his friends and family, as full of life, was found by a neighbor, face down, lifeless. His blood

turning the pure white snow around his body a deep red. He was found unconscious with a head injury, and authorities who responded to the

scene quickly ruled out natural causes. It appeared John had been struck by a vehicle and left

to die, and it was later determined he succumbed to both his injuries and the extreme cold.
