We made fun of Clemson mercilessly when I was in school, like five feet in pictures all the time. And if you want to go back into the history books, yes, Clemson is winning in the win column by far when it comes to that series, but still like it shows you how things can change and you brought that up.

With South Carolina and their facilities, they're incredible. And when they were playing football with Burier back from what the 2010 to 2014 were really the big years, the back-to-back 11 win seasons, outback bowl, beating Alabama in 2010.

And I mean, those facilities weren't there. The facilities that were there were not nice at all. It was still able to recruit the Jadavian clownies and the Marcus Latamores and the Conor Shaws and the Sephon Gilmores who made that team what it was.

And there's obviously an argument for Steve Spurrier being a huge reason why those players were there. But I just never understood that like, oh, will South Carolina fans should just be happy with seven wins from year to year? Like, what are we doing then?

Hey, what's going on? This is the Saturday on South podcast. I am Conor O'Gara. Well, I'm in a good mood today, a really good mood. In fact, we started watching community and we're in that like ideal late season one spot with it. I know it goes downhill late, but I'm very much enjoying it right now.

You've been telling me for a while that I needed to get into the community. Yeah, it's good. Now you can finally get my like random SEC references that deal with communities. This is a great development for us.

It really is. And I feel like I've seen a lot of the gifts come to light that I really understand as much before. And I know a lot of people felt that way with the office. I'm like, oh, wait, now I get basically every single gift that's on the internet because it comes from the office in some way, shape or form.

So that's put me in a good mood. SEC media days are this upcoming week Monday through Thursday. I guess it's technically next week, depending on when you're listening to this. Definitely going to be a little bit different with a smaller crowd. Only doing two play representatives for each team.

And it's weird to think about this too because we didn't have media days last year. There are eight SEC coaches entering year one or year two. So over half of the leagues head coaches will be experiencing SEC media days for the first time with their team.

But so all of those things kind of factoring into this two years in the making, I am really, really fired up about this. And I know that a lot of people complain about media days. And I am not that guy, even though it's a bit of a blur for like four days, little people behind the onion here.

My media days experience consists of these things. I'm either at press conferences for coaches or player interviews and then gathering stuff to write about to be able to have to talk about the podcast or doing interviews for the podcast or I'm doing interviews on radio row for other people shows and stuff.

And I'll be honest, draining week, but I absolutely love it and the SEC does it unlike anyone else. I've been to other media days and it is just a different sort of experience.

Not getting to do it last year probably is leading to some of this excitement and knowing that this has just been finally seemingly a normal year, although not quite for media days because I know there are a lot of restrictions there.

They're talking to me next Thursday and I know I'll probably spend after four days of it, but the other media members who can't stand media days or they'll talk about how insignificant it is, you know who they are.

I'm always just like, you know, it's like to me, it's like, I don't know how you can be anti-media days because that's like, I mean, I feel like you get to see all your friends, right? If you're in the media, like you guys just tweeted each other all year and then you all get together, like the family reunion, right?

Fan-fulking. Well, okay, there's a problem, that guy doesn't have any friends. So if you have friends, I'm sure media days great.

And also doesn't like football. If you don't like football and if you don't like interacting with human beings, probably not the place for you, but for the rest of us who actually like the sport that we cover and like getting to see some of these people in person that we don't necessarily get to see on a weekly basis throughout the year, it's a great experience.

Yeah, no, I think it was super fun and we went, one of the times that we went, we had that whole storefront and we get to set everything up. That was super fun. Obviously, I went to high school in Hoover, Alabama, but Hoover Buck. So that's my hometown, I guess. It's one of the favorite things about it. So I love media days, personally.

They're actually kind of hard to find. Sometimes we get nostalgic and try to go back and like the streaming thing has really left two a days behind.

You were how many years off of that? Whenever I tell people that you went to Hoover, that's the first thing that I always want to follow up with. You know that show two a days? That's where they did, you know, who was at Hoover High?
