Hello and welcome to the Saturday Nonsal podcast. I am Kyle Kira. Will, I am in Hoover. I am at

0:16.4

SEC Media Days. The one of four is in the books. Hotel Wi-Fi. Not great. Listen, you're

0:24.8

the small town charm of Hoover, Alabama. Look at that. Oh, it's beautiful. Yes. There were a lot

0:31.8

of other takeaways today besides just the Wi-Fi. SEC Media Days, two years in the making, was a bit

0:38.8

all over the place. South Carolina, LSU in Florida. We're all in action today. And seeing a lot of

0:46.0

different people here was a bit surreal in itself. It was great. Like I talked about last week was

0:51.3

really looking forward to just getting to see so many of these people in person again, getting to

0:55.7

see, you know, Hester and Peter Burns who we have coming up later in the show and early apologies

1:02.1

on that because recording in a mall isn't always great. And sometimes you get a little background

1:08.1

noise. So heads up for that. But one of the things that I loved about not just being able to be

1:15.2

here was feel like we can actually have a relatively normal season. And then Greg Sankie came in

1:22.5

and proceeded to remind all of us, and maybe this is something that I should have been a little

1:26.8

bit more aware of, but I've kind of been putting it on the back burner. But a little bit of a

1:32.8

Debbie Downer with some of the COVID vaccination threshold numbers. And if you didn't see this,

1:39.9

six of 14 teams in the SEC have hit their COVID vaccination threshold. And Greg Sankie comes out

1:47.9

like guns blazing from the jump. And I was not really fully prepared to that. And I walked in like

1:52.5

10 minutes late, which was not great. Because I was doing, I was doing radio and stuff downstairs.

1:58.2

Like I said, SEC media days of blur. But Greg Sankie informed all of us that there's six of 14

2:04.4

teams that have reached their COVID thresholds. And that number needs to get better, which

2:08.7

echoes what Big 12 Commissioner Bob Bulls said last week. But it was a little bit of a smack in

2:14.1

the face. And I don't want to say that Greg Sankie was a buzzkill because he's been really good about

2:19.2

a lot of this COVID stuff dating back to last year. It's kind of the voice of reason for all this.
