As some of you may know, I co-lead a mindfulness class every Monday night called Mindful Monday.

In the last class, we focused on finding light in the darkness.

During this time of year, it can feel incredibly difficult to keep our spirits up.

The sun goes down a little earlier.

It's a little colder outside, so we don't get to spend as much time as we want doing outdoor activities.

Not to mention, we're still living in a world where COVID-19 is forcing everyone to isolate themselves even more.

So finding light in the dark during this time is extremely important, especially this year.

Now, I'm not a medical professional, but I'm going to briefly talk about seasonal depression.

What is it?

Well, seasonal effective disorder, aka sad,

is a type of depression that is related to changes in the seasons.

Sad begins and ends about the same time every year, so if you're like most people with symptoms,

you'll start to feel a little sad in the fall, and it will last until spring kind of hits.

And this could make you feel like your energy is suffocated and extremely moody.

I know friends who have suffered from this, and I know how difficult it is.

Before I dive into the meat and potatoes of this episode, I'm going to list three practical things

so you can do this year that you can implement into your schedule, therefore helping you to combat seasonal depression.
