For hundreds of years, we've called it the New World, but America is far from new.

It's an ancient place filled with mystery, lost people, strange religions, and brutal

violence. When the first inhabitants arrived on these shores, they found a land of horror,

hauntings, and the magic of old gods unlike those found in other parts of the world. They

were unprepared for what lurked in the darkness, in the woods, and beneath the earth. And when

they came face to face with such terror, they sought ways to subdue and tame the darkness,

neither man nor dark forces are easily tamed. But the First Nations people and the settlers that

followed continued to try. The people sought to conquer and break the land only to be broken

themselves. They began to learn there is something sinister about the old woods and forests,

the fields and farms, and later the small towns of America. Far away from the lights of the cities,

tales of depravity, violence, murder, witchcraft, and curses seem right at home. Dark things lurk

in what we mistakenly believe is the idyllic setting of America's heartland. The farms,

fields, and rural villages are drenched in blood. It's here we can find the isolation,

loneliness, and despair that can sometimes lead to horrific acts that we mistakenly believe can

exist only in our worst nightmares. Season six of the American hauntings podcast will be like

no other season we've attempted before. America's forests, farms, and fields will surrender the

tales of witchcraft and hexes, cults and curses, calamities and cannibalism, massacres and

mysterious disappearances, and more magic mayhem, sinners, and spirits than we've ever offered

before. So come along on a ride with us across an American landscape that's both familiar and

strange and when we reach the end of this road, we can promise you'll never look at a place that
