Summary

We're Back! I’m so incredibly excited to kick off a brand new season of The Glorious in the Mundane podcast in a brand new year! We are going to be walking through Psalm 119 together, the most elaborate of all the acrostic Psalms in the Bible! This beautiful (but kind of baffling) Psalm will not only walk us through the treasure that is the Hebrew ”Aleph-bet” but will also show us the invitation of God’s precepts, commands and even His “rules”! My hope is that you’re surprised all over again ...

The Hey all you beautiful people and welcome to the Glorious in the mundane

0:23.3

podcast I'm your host Christy Knox. It has been a minute. I am so glad to be

0:30.0

back with you after having taken a few months to finish up a very special but I will

0:34.8

say intense project that I've been working on. As many of you know I've been writing a

0:40.0

book and I know it seems like I've been writing this book for over a year now.

0:45.0

That's because I have been.

0:47.0

Well in some ways I've been writing this book for more like 10 years, but the long story short is that I turned in a manuscript in July but as I'm still

0:55.7

learning my voice as an author I ended up almost rewriting the book and away from July to January and then all the way through to the end of February, there was still

1:05.2

more editing to do, and I finally completed that phase of the journey, and I'm really glad about it.

1:11.2

I do not want it to sound like I'm whining at all. I am so incredibly

1:15.1

grateful for this opportunity like I've pinched myself several times almost in

1:19.7

disbelief that it's really finally happening. It's just that it was a workload that I

1:24.8

was not exactly prepared for. I have a whole new respect for authors that is for

1:30.6

sure, but thank you for your patience with me. You might remember that way back

1:34.7

when I started this podcast, I told you that for the time being, the podcast was

1:38.8

going to be my book. Well that scenario got flipped upside down as the book has had to become my

1:45.6

podcast for a while. It's just one that you won't get to hear or read for a little

1:50.0

while longer, but more on that to come. It's been quite challenging with writing the book

1:56.1

and even as I've started to prepare for the relaunch of the podcast, I find myself in this

2:01.2

habit where I'm only opening the Bible to prepare for something

2:05.5

rather than to partake of it. So there have been days where I've had to choose to push aside

2:11.2

the preparing until I'm back in the habit of partaking. I can't pour out if I'm not letting truth pour in.
