Sometimes when I'm alone with my thoughts, a wave of emotion comes over me, kind of like the ancestors tapping me on my shoulder.

For hundreds of years, my people have been fighting, fighting for the right to the basic comforts of human life,

the right to love who we want, to live where we want, the right to an education, the right to vote, the right to live without fear, the right to exist.

And I've been thinking lately, am I really my ancestors' wildest dreams?

What they say we've come really far, are not far enough.

What does the next leg of liberation look like for us? With that truth be told will always be a space for people of color to share freely

and learn from each other. But these next few seasons we're focusing squarely on what liberation looks, tastes, and feels like for

black Americans.
