Summary

At the time Jodi Huisentruit disappeared Tony Jackson lived two blocks from KIMT-TV in Mason City, where Jodi worked.

Two years later Jackson violently raped four women in the Minneapolis area.

One of the officer’s responsible for arresting Jackson in Minnesota was Jay Alberio. He joins me on this episode. He, and others, have contended that Jackson should be seriously considered by authorities in Iowa for Jodi’s disappearance in 1995.

Was there a frustration about Tony Jackson that you didn't know how closely they were looking

0:41.4

at him, but do you think they took him seriously enough at the time he came up to you?

It's really hard to say. We did not feel initially when we went down there the reason

we were even approached by law enforcement in Minnesota, but they thought he wasn't taken very seriously.

When I started this podcast about a year ago now,

1:09.2

three cases ago now, which is crazy to think about. But when I submitted

the podcast to iTunes, one of the questions they ask on the forum is what category is your podcast?

1:20.7

Interesting. I didn't know. There is no true crime category. There probably should be by now.

1:26.6

It's not news and politics. It's not really

1:28.9

culture. Eventually, I selected personal journals. A lot of investigative podcasts you might have listened to.

1:38.3

Great ones, by the way. Do all the work first over months and years sometimes. Then they outline the show, episode by episode.

1:47.0

That's not the way I've chosen to do these three seasons of Frozen.
