Summary

There are no shortage of leads to follow in Jodi Huisentruit’s disappearance.

Early on, the FBI and local investigators wondered if her disappearance might be related to other unsolved murders of young women in north Iowa.

About six months after Jody disappeared, and police had clearly hit a dead end in their investigation.

The case was featured on national television. Unsolved Mysteries profiled Jody's case,

23 years later, and here we are again, two weekends ago, 48 hours featured Jody's case on an episode they ran,

perhaps you saw it, and the next week, the Mason City Police Department again said they'd

received dozens of calls and tips from the public. Maybe one of those tips will close the case

this time, but there are hundreds of those tips to examine in the meantime.

Disappeared on June 27, 1995. Days before that, on June 23rd, 24th, and 25th,

a Civil War reenactment troop was in Mason City, recreating the Battle of Pleasant Hill,

which took place in Pennsylvania. At the time in 1995, it was the third annual such event.

Actually, that Civil War reenactment has gone on every year in Mason City since 1993, right up until today.

The 25th annual recreation took place this last summer.

But here's the thing.

Just before Jody went missing, two other women about J Jody's age, also went missing within days of a Civil War reenactment being hosted in their town.

That might mean that a Civil War reenactor, who also happened to be a serial killer of women, was traveling the Midwest and just happened to converge with Jody Hoosentrude.

Come to think of it, an event like a Civil War reenactment, might just make a good story for the local
