Summary

Some days you’ve got to hold your joy close, pray over it, and put a lid on it before the internet gets a vote. Today we are talking like girlfriends at the kitchen table about giving yourself permission to be human while God makes you whole. We’re choosing God over small, trading people-pleasing for purpose, and letting the Holy Spirit stretch us from tight places into broad spaces. It’s not a recap, it’s real talk.

Pull up and let’s:

  • Protect joy before we post it

  • Do enough to hear God again

  • Turn the other cheek without turning off our calling

  • Ask the Holy Spirit for bold, humble courage

If your heart’s been tender, your faith feels wobbly, or you’ve been hiding the best parts of you, this one’s a gentle nudge to show up again. Press play, breathe, and let’s seal that joy together.

I want to start this podcast by saying, I am sorry that I have been inconsistent.

0:15.1

When I started this podcast in 2018, one of the things that I prided myself on is every week. I started up Facebook

0:22.5

live. Every, I think it was, was it Tuesday? Every Tuesday, two-ish, you could count on me being on

0:30.5

Facebook live to do this podcast. And two-ish, I do mean ish, because depending on what was happening

0:35.2

in my world and in my family, it could have been like 2.30. But, you know, that's neither here nor there. I have pride it myself on consistency. And this

0:42.2

year, I just have not been able to show up in the way that I am used to showing up in this particular

0:48.5

space. And as much as I want to be down on myself about it, the first part of the year wasn't really

0:53.7

my fault. I think I could have planned better as a business leader, but there were just certain

0:59.4

things that I didn't know as it related to taking back the ownership of the podcast that

1:05.5

required legal and engineering and back-in things that I've never had to go through before.

1:12.3

But this last pause was a combination of many things that I'm going to get into.

1:17.5

But I just want to thank you for your patience.

1:20.7

And I want this to maybe serve as a reminder for some of us that the places where we have

1:26.3

shown up consistently may not be a place where we can

1:29.0

show up consistently in this season. And it is okay for you to give yourself permission to be

1:35.0

inconsistent temporarily while you recenter, re-gather, recalibrate so that you can determine

1:41.5

what consistency looks like for you going forward.

1:45.2

Inconsistency is not a permanent state that I suggest anyone be in, but I do think when we're

1:50.2

going through identity transitions, when we're going through work transitions, family

1:56.3

transitions, that giving ourselves permission to say, okay, I'm not going to be able to show up in the way

2:01.8

that I once did. I can show up in some ways, but I'm giving myself permission to be inconsistent
