Klint Kubiak was hired as the second offensive coordinator for Mike Macdonald. They traded away a QB he liked and their most physically intimidating receiver. The rest of the NFL is dismissing the Seahawks because of his offense, and to some extent, him. For the first time during training camp, the new OC answered questions from the media. I share some of his answers and my thoughts about what I heard. Also, we speak to Eric Saubert the TE that most Seahawks fans do not know.

I think it's a very mature group led by, you know, number one, you know,

0:39.6

Eric Saabert coming here has been a big, a big plus just to leave the young guys. And then guys

0:45.0

like AJ and Elijah, they have no, they have no option but to step up to his level mentally,

physically. So I think, I think it is a talented group. You only get to play, you know, two or three in the game, though. So we've got to find out who are we going to be. So Eric, welcome to the show, first of all. I appreciate you having me, man. Welcome to Seattle. Second. What do you think about what Mr. Kibak said about you there? 1:43.9

You know, the tight end position, obviously, it's like, you know, you need to be so versatile, especially in this offense. So, you know, the idea is that like you know you need to be so versatile especially in this offense so you know

1:46.1

the idea is that you know the givens are that we're prepared you know we're on our stuff

1:51.1

we probably have the second most responsibilities on in the offense besides a quarterback right

1:57.6

in terms of knowing it right so we're on all our stuff and then we've got gritty guys that love to get down on the run game and can expose you in the past game as well. Yeah, I don't think everybody understands how much tight ends take on, right? You're involved in the run game. You're involved in the past game. Blocking, receiving, all those things. And, you know, line calls you can be split out you can be attached sometimes you can even be in the past game blocking, receiving, all those things. And, you know, line calls, you can be split out. You can be attached. Sometimes you can even be in the back field. So, you know, have you found that that position requires extra preparation relative to what some other positions out on the offense have to do? Yeah, I think so. And I think even like within the tight end position itself, like there's, you know,

2:35.2

you've got your Y, you've got your F, you know, sometimes we've got three guys in there.

2:38.6

So you just need to know all the spots, all the concepts at every position, whether it
