I'm on the phone with Ashfin, and today we are talking about Scream 2 from 1997, directed by West Craven, written by Kevin Williamson, starring Neve Campbell, Courtney Cox, David Arquette, and Jada Pinkett Smith.

And in this film, Sydney Prescott's attempt to return to a normal life is interrupted by a series

of copycat murders on her college campus.

If you're new to the show, we're going to discuss some spoiler-free

information on the movie for the first 15 or 20 minutes. But then after that, we'll do a little

musical interlude and transition into spoiler mode. We'll walk through the plot in detail and

review the film. So if you haven't seen the movie yet, you can hang on for the first 15 or 20 minutes here,

and then you'll want to duck out and go watch this. And for the past couple of years, we've

been covering sequels exclusively in the month of September so. We would like to welcome you

back to yet another sequel September, but we're not sure if we'll do sequels all month long

because we've got some big movies coming up that may interrupt

the flow of things. Candyman's coming out. It may have even been released already by the time you hear

this. A new James Wan film, Malignan, is coming out, so we might pepper in a couple of non-sequels

this month. What do you think of that, Planoch, Edgson? I like that idea. A little mix of some sequels, some originals.

Yeah, we'll go a little softer on it this month.

And I'd like to, considering Scream 5 coming out in January, I'd like to maybe get to

scream three and four in the next few months too.
