I've got Brian on the phone with me.

And today we're going to be talking about the 2021 horror film, Candyman, directed by Nia de Costa, and starring Yahia Abdul Mateen II,

Tiona Paris, and Tony Todd.

This is a sequel to the 1992 Candyman, and it tells the story of a young artist who inadvertently brings back to life, the spirit known as Candy Man.

For those of you who are new to this show, Brian are going to have a spoiler-free discussion at the top of the episode.

We'll just talk about the background of the film.

Then we'll take a quick short musical break, and we'll jump into the plots, the spoilers, and our review.

Brian, is this the third time you've been to the theater this year?

Third time I've been back to the theater, yeah.

Did you find a theater yet that you liked?

You know, I actually kind of liked this theater I was at, but get this, man.

The closest theater that was playing to me in my new house at a showtime that I could go to was at the Mall of America oh my god that

huge one yeah I had never been there wow yeah yeah so I walked in and went up like four escalators

to the theater and it was all right.

There were still some some rascals, some youths who were a little bit disrespectful of the film

for my taste, but other than that it was all right.

Mall rats.
