birthright citizenship,

and the ability of a federal district judge

to issue a temporary restraining order nationwide.

Those two presentations in the Supreme Court in these last hours, oral arguments.

Unusual middle of May, but the court attends to a controversy that is now prominent because of an executive order by Mr. Trump.

The headline in the New York Times tells the story. Supreme Court seems torn over judges' power

in birthright citizenship case. Subhead. In a case involving changes to birthright citizenship,

the justice has heard arguments on whether a single federal judge in a single district can

block the Trump administration policy across the country.

I welcome my colleague, Jim Pfaff, of the Conservative Caucus, and also of Indiana, because

I'm keen on hearing from Jim how Indiana sees these issues. The TRO is related directly to

birthright citizenship because as of now, executive order is stopped by the order of a district

judge. Jim, a very good evening to you. You and I have talked about my family roots in Indiana. I spent a couple of

idyllic summers in Indiana once visiting, and I think of it as a place where everything is

extremely happy all the time. But immigration is a burden on this country, especially the last

years with the Biden administration, not attending to security at the

border. So how does Indiana regard birthright citizenship, which is a case that's being argued

not only by the Supreme Court, but also, as I understand it, all the legal scholars in America
