Let's talk about the hostages.

There are reports that there is a possible deal that would involve getting out women and children and the elderly.

How close are you to reaching a deal to get more of the hostages out?

Well, Kirsten, I can say that we weren't close at all until we started the ground operation. In fact, we heard that there's an impending deal of this kind or of that kind, and then we learned that it was all hokom. It was nothing. But the middle we started the ground operation, things began to change. So is there a potential deal? Mr. Prime Minister? Is there a potential deal? There could be, but I think the less I say about it, the more I'll increase the chances

that it materializes.

And it's a result of pressure.

Military pressure will announce it if it's achieved.

We know a great deal, but I won't go beyond that. That's Israel's Prime Minister,

chose that particular soundbite to kick us off as we launch into a brand new scoop in a brand new week.

Welcome everybody to Scoop where you get the scoop on this week's news. My name is Jenna, and this smarter news and I'm so glad you're here. We're going to talk a little bit about what's happening in the Middle East with the developments there with continued talk, a lot of talk over the last 24 hours about hostages. We're going to talk about that in just a moment. We're also going to move to the Asia Pacific region by way of San Francisco.

We have big news this week with a major meeting between President Biden and President Xi of China.

Some thought this meeting would not happen, but it's happening this week or as expected to on Wednesday.

We'll talk a little bit about that. And then we're going to return to Washington, D.C., where we have quite a domestic news

story that we're going to have to cover, which is the potential for a government shutdown.

So we're going to take a little bit of a trip around the world today.

Just to give you the lay of the land, there's less than 50 days before the end of the year.

We're 42 days out from Christmas or 10 days out from Thanksgiving and about four or five days,

depending on how you look at it from that potential government shutdown.

So as I'm mentioning these days, it does make my heartbeat a little faster, but it provides

us a good foundation for the news stories that we're talking about, about why timing really matters
