Well, welcome everybody to the Scoop on Smarter News, and dare I say it, I don't know, is it too early for a countdown clock?

Do we need one of those countdown clocks that they're going to put on the news where it's, you know, election day is two weeks away and then five days away and then four hours until polls close?

Like, do we need one of those?

I don't think we do.

We're actually going to try to be real steady-handed for this scoop broadcast because we're getting into that wild

period where all bets are off and we're so close to election day that the sort of media,

haphazard media environment and political environment is going to feel even more heightened than normal.

And so before we get into that, which we're going to be in, we're going to be able to sort

through some of what's going on and some of the decisions, editorial decisions that are being

made. We're going to talk about some of the interviews that are being made. When things get

crazy, I want you to know we're going to be here for you. So we're ready. We're prepped and ready. We're just not willing to dive into the deep end quite yet. You know what I'm saying? We're going to sit on the side of the pool and we're going to watch everybody else get crazy first. And then when things get, then it gets a little too hot, then we'll get it. But we're not going to be we're not going to be as crazy as everybody else. I promise you. I want you to have a moment of Zen when you come to smarter news where you actually can hear what's going on and why it matters. I'm excited for the week ahead, though. We have an interview that we have planned, knock on wood, that it takes place because you never know when these things

happen with the founder of Real Clear Politics, which is the website that I've talked to you a lot

about over the years because what they do is they take all the polling from all different areas.

And while they'll show you the individual polls, then they also have a formula of putting it all

together and spitting out what all the polls are telling us.

So we're not over-reliant on one or the other, one methodology or the other.

And my goal there for you is that we'll have a one-stop interview where we really go over the battleground states and what's going on and what are the different paths to victory.

So you have an idea of what to watch for as we get closer

to election day. So I'm excited for that. In the meantime, as we're embracing this time in American

politics in our own way, why don't we start with a fun story that's going to bring us way back?
