Hi, everybody. Welcome to a special live scoop for you on this special week as we enter into the

first week of June and we have a lot of big stories to cover, including what's happening

with the death ceiling. We had a last minute change right before the holiday weekend that

sort of slowly sneaked in there that changed the whole debate.

I'll explain in just a second.

It's also a special day.

It's my birthday today.

So we're doing the live scoop because we wanted to honor the Memorial Day holiday and make sure that we create a work culture at Smarter News where we know it is time to take a step away from work

and take this moment to honor those who made the ultimate sacrifice. And I appreciate your patience

with that. And now we go into Tuesday. I wanted to do a live scoop on Tuesday. So we make up for

some of that lost time because the whole goal behind scoop is that we give you a prep sheet for

the week ahead. And when we have a shorter week, we have to sort of navigate what that's going to look like.

And maybe a live scoop is what we'll end up doing.

But it just so happens and not plans that this lands on my birthday.

And there was actually a very interesting article in the Wall Street Journal published just a few weeks ago that really resonated with me. So we're going to start with something sort of funny about age.

And then we're going to move into some of the more serious news. For those of you who are watching

live, we actually are able to see your comments. And so if you like to ask questions during
