I wanted to tell you about something called energy cannibalism.

This is absolutely fascinating.

I was flagged about this by a post over on Daily Coase by Pacalolo in the community

threads where I occasionally post as well.

It's titled energy cannibalism is happening so fast that the collapse of the oil industry will

blow up renewables, will derail the renewables.

And here's what it is and how it works.

When you pump oil out of the ground, there's a whole spectrum of

amounts of effort it takes to get that oil.

Most of us of a certain age remember the movies from back in the first half of the 20th century.

When people would go out to Oklahoma or Texas and they'd drill a water well thinking they

would find water and they'd hit a certain depth and suddenly oil would come gushing out of the ground.

They were called gushers. People got rich from that.

I believe there's one, a clip of one of those B-roll that starts the Beverly Hill billies.
