Hi, this is Deborah Messing. I'm an actress and social justice advocate. I am

Andana Deani, creator and co-founder of the nonpartisan movement, I am a voter.

So Mondana and I are best friends and we're constantly sending each other inspiring stories of people around the world who are doing incredible things.

And then one day we realized something.

Most of them had no intention of becoming heroes.

They just knew they had to do something and did it.

So after months and months of research into these accidental activists, we created our list of the 20 dissenters who blew us away.

Based on Ruth Bader Ginsburg's iconic I Descent slogan, a dissenter is someone who stood up to an injustice or

challenged the status quo, someone who fought to build a better way.

This week we speak with the incredible Skyler Baylor. Skyler is the first trans

athlete to compete in any sport on an NCAA Division 1 men's team. He is an

internationally celebrated inspirational speaker and a respected advocate for inclusion, body positivity, and

mental health awareness.
