The NHL schedule release when we'll get the cap schedule for the entire season. Obviously, starting in October, we already know. They're opening with another banner raising in St. Louis, but we will

break it all down, including our reaction to Brooks Orpick announcing his retirement from the NHL. I'm Rob

Carlin. That is Brian McNally, and we are waiting now for the schedule to be released, but we have

heard some rumors. If you're planning on traveling with the caps, pack a big old bag

for the month of October because it sounds like they're going to spend a lot of time on the road

in the opening month this season. Rob, that's nine games, right? Is what we're hearing? In October,

that is a serious road trip. The boys better be ready to play because that's one of those that can, you get off to a rough start against some good teams. I think Nashville was in there maybe. There's some different teams that could be tough, tough road trips, tough road games. We always know the, no surprise, the Western Canada trip is almost always in there, so we'll see where that shakes out. So tough one, tough start to the season, but, you know, I don't think, I think that's a good way to get into it as well, and it starts with the banner raising in St. Louis, not as fun this year as last year. It's crazy, right? So it's three straight years that they're in... And four of seven. And four of seven because they were in Chicago that one year. So, I mean, there's the one side where Caps fans are going to be like, why do they do that to us every single year? And I guess if you step back, though, you're like, well, caps are a big draw.

Like, go back three years ago, it was them in Pittsburgh.

It makes sense for NBCSN or NBC.

Last year was obviously ours.

And then this year, again, it's a pretty juicy potline to have the caps there.

The last two Stanley Cup champs.

That's a good thing. It's a great matchup. We know the history with the blues, right?

The preseason history. Tom Wilson's been suspended twice in those preseason games. So there's a

little bit, it's interesting. It's a Western Conference team and the defending champs, but there's a little edge to that rivalry. There's some, you know,

back and forth. The Blues have not been angels in those preseason games either. Robert

Bertuzzo and those guys get into it. So I'm intrigued. That's a great opening night. And then

you look at these other two.

The Islanders, tough one in Nassau, right? That's going to be, that's not in Brooklyn. It's at the

Coliseum. So, you know, they're going to be excited and ready to go. And then the rematch,

the last time we played a home game here was against the hurricanes didn't end too

well and caps get them again for the home opener so that that should have some juice as well and it's
