Let's get into the mix. Here are your Washington headlines of the day. Number one, we've got some big news in the Senate.

Ryan Shots has all but locked up the number two spot. Whip was Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer endorsing him. Number two, we've got the latest on redistricting. And number three, Democratic

ad buys target Medicare cuts. All right, Max, let's get into it. We have for an August recess, a very newsy top here this morning.

Senator Brian Schatz has been on the march to secure his colleague's support for him in the number two spot, which would start in 2027.

But we have news this morning that Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer has not only endorsed

it, but has been kind of helping him along the way. Exactly. Yeah. And we're reporting now that

Schatz has basically locked up this leadership race before it's really even began, which is super

impressive inside game from Brian Schott. Schumer is now backing him. He's saying he has

a majority of Senate Democrats now backing him. And no other Senate Democrat realistically will now challenge

shots. And not only is this relevant for the whip race, which he's basically won, but also the

future leader race, because Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer is not going

to serve in that post forever.
