Summary

Join Jim and Greg as they share some thoughts on the Super Bowl and dive into two big political stories.
First, they have generally positive reviews of the Super Bowl, other than the fact that the game seemed to last forever. They were pleased there was no officiating controversy that played a huge role in deciding the game like there was last year and we didn't seem to be inundated with too much woke indoctrination in the ads.

Then, they wince as Wisconsin Rep. Mike Gallagher surprisingly announces he will retire from Congress at the end of this year. While clearly disagreeing with Gallagher's decision to vote against impeaching Homeland Security Sec. Alejandro Mayorkas, they point out Gallagher is usually a very reliable conservative vote and he is doing good work exposing the threat that the Chinese Communist Party poses to the United States.

Finally, they hammer President Biden's low-energy, mumbling nonsense about how he is fed up with "shrinkflation" and companies charging the same amount for less product. Not only does Biden pretend this isn't directly related to his inflationary policies but Jim points out that this exposes his own false narrative about the supposed success of "Bidenomics."

And our first one, Jim, is basically,

the Super Bowl went pretty well.

0:40.2

Wasn't like last year where we had a tie game and the reps had a questionable holding call against the Eagles that allowed the chiefs to

Run the clock all the way down and kick a game-winning field goal in the last play

It wasn't a particularly well-played, particularly in the first half. We had four total turnovers. The botched punt really hurt the 49ers, as did the missed extra point and so forth. In the end it went to overtime, the Niners got a field goal.

You kind of felt then when they didn't get a touchdown that Mahomes was probably going to

I don't know if there's anything tremendously memorable in there
