Big news at the top of punch bowl news this morning. The longtime chief of staff to House majority

leader, Steve Scalise, Brett Horton is leaving Capitol Hill after a very long career for the Louisiana

Republican. This is a big and seismic departure at the top

rung of the House Republican leadership. Horton is one of the longest serving leadership staffers

and one of the primary architects of Steve Scalise's career. He will head to American Hotel and

Lodging Association as the chief advocacy officer, Officer, where he will oversee lobbying, advocacy,

quite obviously, that's in the title, and political activities.

There are few staffers who have lasted as long as Brett Horton.
