I bet if you are a fan of this podcast and of my books, articles etc, you're probably a

self-aware person who's seeking out ways to be do and have more of what they want and you also

want to make a contribution with your life, right? You want to allow in more ease, more creativity, not live a life of stress, not subscribe to that, even

though the world will have you believe that you need it.

And I applaud you for this. Sometimes too when we care about others we

care about showing up I care about others deeply I feel it's very much you know a big

part of my purpose to care for others and to show them that another way is possible.

It's also easy to give away a lot of yourself.

I see this often, right? You know, with women especially, frankly, we'll put ourselves

last kids first, friends first, family first, colleagues first, boss first, projects that other people

need us to help with first.

And so we're just naturally last on the list.

And sometimes we kill ourselves, right?

We're like, you know, don't worry, I'm okay, it's fine, I've got a lot to give, I love to be busy.

I hear all these things a lot and they may be true

but we have to save a little love for ourselves we can't give it all away. I want to give you a couple of examples of how I've done

this and what it's meant to me even though it's been uncomfortable. The first was when a

visitor was coming to Miami recently and I was just tired. I was tired. I really really love this girl. She was coming from Europe, she was coming for

a wedding, it was just a couple of days and we made a plan ahead of time to meet and I were

the best of intentions wanted to see her like absolutely this girl's fantastic

and the time came she arrived the window kind of changed a bit because of some other plans
