Or actually, this is what happens when not so nice people or dense people, mostly male

people, think their things are so nice that everyone wants to see them.

That's probably too generous a take on the unsolicited dick pick,

and that's, of course, the thing that I'm talking about here, the unsolicited dick pick,

because most guys who send unsolicited dickpicks aren't trying to be nice. According to a study

published in the Journal of Sex Research, most men who send dick pics aren't trying to be assholes

either. They're trying to get laid or get dirty

picks in return. The study looking into this, which researchers hilariously titled,

I'll show you mine, so you'll show me yours, motivations and personality variables and photographic

exhibitionism, that study looked into the motives of unsolicited dick pick senders and found

that way more than half

were hoping to elicit a positive response, get a pick in return in most cases, or get laid.

Only 16% were motivated by a desire to do harm, to annoy or harass the recipient of that dick pick they sent.

This research also found that men who send unsolicited dick picks tend to be younger,

more narcissistic, and sexist.

When you think about it, the unsolicited dick pick was inevitable.

We should have seen those things coming when the disinhibiting aspects of anonymity

combined with brand new smartphone technology

and the age-old attitude so prevalent among straight men that they are entitled to women's attention
