well, there's nothing you can't ask on the Savage Lovecast. First first the bad news and i'm sorry i know you don't come here

for the news good or bad there are a million news podcasts out there there are still newspapers

out there news websites news feeds on twitter the news is nearly unavoidable.

And people turn to podcasts like mine, a nice little show about sex and relationships.

The relationships other people are in, the sex other people are having for a distraction,

unless it's your question that gets on the show and then you're here for the advice.

But I know people come here, people listen to me to avoid the

news, if only for a little bit. But I'm kind of a news junkie myself, and when the news is as bad

as the news is right now, it affects me as I'm sure it affects you. I've been really depressed

the last couple of weeks. I've been doing self-care and my self-care routines probably look a little different than yours,

but whatever your self-care routine looks like, I hope you're making some time for it.

Anyway, I'm sure I don't need to tell you what's going on in Ukraine,

but I want to acknowledge it because my heart aches right now for the brave people

of Ukraine. My heart also aches a little bit for the many Russians I've met over the years

who don't want to live under a dictator. And then there's the bad news for queer people coming out

of Texas in Florida. In Texas, the governor, the odious governor, Greg Abbott, has declared that gender affirming care

for trans kids is child abuse and is now threatening the parents of trans kids who provide

that kind of care to their kids with prosecution and threatening to take their kids away.

And at the same time, in Florida, a don't say gay bill is making

its way through the Republican-controlled state legislature there and will pass, and it will be
