Obviously, I wasn't being serious. I'm pro-choice, and I framed the thought of mandatory abortions for 30 years as something that comes to me in my darker moments when I despair of and for this world.

Calling me a genocidal maniac of that comment is like calling a woman who

in a moment of frustration said she wanted to kill her husband, a murderer. She didn't really mean it.

Just as I really didn't mean it. Just as Jonathan Swift didn't really mean sell Irish children for

their meat. My point was this. There are too many people on the planet. There's not an environmental
