So I was in New York City last week on my book tour, and I was having dinner with some people I knew and some people I didn't know very well.

And the subject of the mayor's race came up, and Anthony Wiener.

Now, Anthony Wiener is the the unfortunately last named U.S.

representative who was drummed out of Congress after some pictures that he'd tweeted out to

some followers and fans surfaced. And they were pictures of him shirtless and they were pictures

of his dick hard. And at the time when he was basically hounded out of Congress for sexting with strangers

and flirting, people said that he had a sex addiction and this and that.

And I said, no, he had a computer and a dick.

And when you put people with dicks in front of computer, sometimes dick picks happen.

And it's not all that uncommon for people to flirt and for politicians and celebrities

to be needy exhibitionists. Not all that uncommon. And I didn't think he should be hounded

out of Congress for it. We didn't hound David Vitter out of Congress, the Republican senator from

Louisiana, who was seeing prostitutes, who was calling the D.C. Madam and making appointments to see prostitutes when he was a congressman from Congress, from the floor of the House of the Representatives. We didn't hound him out, but we hounded Anthony Wiener out for on his own time flirting with some strangers that he was never going to meet. This was a sex scandal without sex. This was a masturbation scandal. This happens. People go online. They meet people. They flirt. They sex. They jerk off. They jill off. And they're done. And so he wasn't cheating on his wife. He was just doing something that a lot of people felt was deeply creepy. Now he's back. Anthony Wiener is running for mayor of New York City. And I'm sort of not taking a position on who should win. I'm not making an endorsement. Not that my endorsement really matters and the mayor's race. Christine Quinn, who is a lesbian and has been a foot soldier for Bloomberg for years and the president of the New York City Council is also running. And a lot of queer is very excited about Christine Quinn's candidacy. I am too. That would be crazy. That would be great. Lesbian mayor of New York. Wow, that would be amazing. But part of me really hopes Anthony Wiener wins to shove this shit down everybody's throats. You know, to put it out there that you can have a dirty picture get out there and surface and your life isn't over. You don't have to be ruined.

You don't have to hang your head in shame and slink off and be disgraced for the rest of your life because you have genitals and because you did something horny stupid.

Who hasn't done something horny stupid shit?

We've all done horny stupid shit.

It's just now in this new era with cameras on all of our fucking phones with a porn

production studio in everyone's pocket and the worldwide internet, our horny stupid moments

get out there.
