Anyway, Anthony Weiner resigned last week, as everyone knows.

Really hounded out of Congress by the president of the United States, by Nancy Pelosi, by Harry Reid, by Republicans who insisted that he had to go, even though David Vitter, who was, of course, fucking prostitutes who were putting him in diapers, allegedly, not the fucking prostitutes allegedly, just the diaper thing is this rumor that kicks around that Vitter hasn't really sued anybody about yet. So I'm taking that as a confirmation of sorts, but allegedly

diapered by hookers. He's still a senator. In fact, a family values crusader who was

reelected by the family values conservative brigades down there in Louisiana. Anyway, he's still

a senator, and no one's calling for him to resign because, as Rachel Maddow has pointed out over and over and over again during the whole Wienergate scandal, it's okay if you're a Republican.

It is okay to break the law, cheat on your spouse, bang hookers.

If you're a Republican, it is not okay to flirt online, break no laws, break no vows.

Even if you did, as we now know, piss off your wife.

Not okay if you're a Democrat.

And I predicted in Savage Love that I thought Weiner was going to beat this thing.

And yes, that was intentional, that little single entendre.
