My name's Dan Savage, and I'm here with the TechSsevi at-risk youth, busting out another crucial

and much-needed installment of the Savage Lovecast, the once-a-week outlawed version of my

sex advice column, Savage Love.

Now, before we get to your questions, I wanted to draw podcast listeners to something that I wrote

about recently in the column, but haven't podcasted about that I think is really fascinating because

right now, you know, we've got the Obama administration and, and Barack said at his inaugural

Asian, during his inaugural asian address,

that he was going to restore science to its proper place,

well, Bush shot faith-based daggers at the back of his head.

Now, what's interesting about this whole restoring science thing is,

if there's one thing we've learned over the last 10 years,

spending more than $1.2 billion

on absence education, is that it shit doesn't work.

Science ain't there.

All the studies show that at best, absence education delays the onset of sexual activity by a few months, maybe six.

But then when kids become sexually active,

invariably before marriage, a la Bristol-Palin, they're less likely to use protection and more

likely to get knocked up. There's a couple of other interesting studies that have come out.
