Biden announced his approval for a first wave of plans to build

out a national electric vehicle charging network. He green-lighted plans from 35 states, which will collectively

spend $900 million on public charging stations.

But how do those stations actually function?

How do utility companies provide power for the sprawling network?

And how is the electric grid made more

resilience when they come online. Those are the questions that Sarah Nielsen, the

executive director of the Electric Vehicle Program at Consumer's's Energy is here to answer today.
