0:05.0	But I do think that if you look at a lot of these traditions, I think they are actually helpful
0:09.0	when they're practiced in a loving, compassionate, reasonable way. I think they are helpful for creating greater love and
0:14.6	compassion in the world. I think the second thing is, you know, I think that they help us make
0:19.9	meaning of life. Do you know what I mean? Like they, I mean look why do you on your
0:24.6	birthday it's the anniversary of your birth that you have a cake with candles and
0:29.5	you sing a song and you have presents like that's stupid that's meaningless why are you doing that?
0:33.2	There's no rational thing there but like it brings joy and meeting into your life like it just does right it's a
0:39.5	ritual it's a tradition it's you associate with these rituals,
0:43.1	some feelings of joy and connection.
0:45.3	And I think that a lot of religious rituals,
0:47.0	they do that, and they help us mark moments in our lives
0:50.2	that are difficult.
0:50.8	They give us a way through them.
