Hey, wonderfuls. Welcome to episode 405 of the JV club and welcome in, yes indeed, to our first episode of the new year.

Happy 2021, everyone. I wish I could say we were starting the new year off on a great foot as a

nation in terms of our health and welfare, but I do feel some optimism that we will make some more progress in 2021.

I am thinking about you all.

I hope that you have remained largely untouched by coronavirus, you and yours, those you love,

those whom you know, I imagine that that is not the case anymore because I certainly know many many more people who have

suffered who have lost loved ones and boy this is a very somber intro for what I will say is a delightful episode. I could not

adore Sarah Schaefer more for a person I don't know very well but now feel like

I want to be with all the time. So may you all

have a positive and similar experience with this episode with Sarah Schaefer if

you are not already familiar with her wonderful writing and comedy and I will talk to you

next week on the podcast. So, So you and I were, before we had before we had recorded, we were enjoying one

another's desire to not zoom for our podcast reporting. Yes. Yes. Thank you. Yeah. I don't I guess I feel like I have the faith to your point of it being a podcast. I just want to have the faith that we can get

through this without seeing each other's lips move. Yeah we are lucky

enough to be able to hear each other and not need to see each other's faces.

You know, it's a privilege to be honest.

And I am, because it's like, you know when when you're at home during the pandemic your time is

meaningless and your schedule everyone's lives are so different than they were a year ago that I don't

know if this is like this for you, but like every time I do a podcast I forget until five minutes before and then you're scrambling to get the

equipment set up and get everything ready and so if you also have to set up a

computer and zoom and lighting and like do I look okay are they recording this or are they putting it online

It's so much worse so thank you for making it like oh I had, I didn't forget about this one,
