The Riyadh comedy festival is pulling some of the biggest names in stand-up to Saudi Arabia, including Dave Chappelle and Kevin Hart.

The Saudi governments reportedly paying some of them over a million dollars each to perform.

It may seem incongruous in Saudi Arabia, an ultra-conservative Islamic kingdom.

But in recent years, the Saudi crown prince, Muhammad bin Salman, has tried to reshape his country's image.

Investing billions in sporting events and entertainment, including the recent takeover of

electronic arts, an American video game powerhouse.

And occasionally bon sawing a journalist if they say something negative about the kingdom.

Barbaric!

Yeah, so this is an interesting story.

We talked about it a couple of times.

David Cross, comedian I really like.

I hate David Cross's politics, but I like

his comedy, but he doesn't like that some of his favorite liberal, progressive comedians are

over there taking a million dollars from the Saudis when they abuse women, gays, everything.

And they're against everything progressive comedians claim to be four.
