We are rounding out with day five of our Foundations of Faith devotional in the Bible app.

There's a link to that in the description if you guys want to fall along with us and

as always, I'm going to read the scripture, then Tori's going to pick up with the Debo.

Let's do it.

The scripture is Matthew, chapter 28, verses 18 through 20, and they say this,

Jesus came and told His disciples, I have been given all authority in heaven and on

earth.

Therefore go and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the

Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit.

Teach these new disciples to obey all the commands I have given you and be sure of this.

I am with you always, even to the end of the age.

The devotional is titled, what's baptism and why does it matter?

It says this, when you think of baptism, what comes to mind?

If you said, dunking someone in water, you're not wrong.

Many churches have different approaches to baptism, but the ultimate purpose of baptism

is to outwardly express an inward change.

It is both a symbolic expression of faith and an act of obedient surrender and repentance,

which is why it's the natural next step someone takes after they make a decision to believe

in and follow Christ.
