Of course, it's 4 o'clock in the morning, but I got the windows down in the bell parkway. I was cold. Freezing. Yeah. It was nice. Yeah. And now it's sunny. It'll be about 80 degrees. This is why people love San Diego. I don't. I think it's boring, but it's aesthetically beautiful. The Hoyer, San Diego, but it's boring. But the weather's like this every day, all year. No humidity, 78, 80 degrees. You start getting into the 90s. I mean, I was in Greece last week. They had to close the Acropolis. It was the hottest day in history. 110 degrees Fahrenheit, 110, which is like 42 degrees |
| 1:38.3 | Celsius. I was in Paris three weeks ago. You guys remember, 104 degrees. |
| 1:44.9 | I love the sun. |

| 1:55.5 | Granted, he's 81 years old. |
| 1:56.9 | But still, he canceled the European tour. |
| 1:59.7 | So today's nice, and at some point this afternoon, I'll make my way over to see the mayor. And my next guest has interest in that. She's been out with us once before. She's very influential in the Jewish community. She's got a great news letter. How often does that come out, by the way, Sam? You know, once a week, once a week. Once a week. Sometimes twice a week. Okay. And you know her, of course, from Instagram. She's a big deal, my friend Samantha Edis. Good morning, Sam. How are you? Good morning. It's so nice to be in the studio with you. Pretty cool, right? Yeah, your chance even better in person. Yeah, you look great in person too. So you don't live here. You're going home tonight, right? Okay, well, I am a native New Yorker. I'm from New York, born and raised, lived here my whole life, had my three kids here, and then we moved to L.A. about 13 years ago. And, which is better than San Diego, but not as good as New York. It's not better than San Diego. I mean, it's more to do. There's a lot more to do. Right. But the leadership there is just horrendous. Well, speaking of the leadership there, I don't know if you're familiar with this, but I did lose my home. I did know that. And my community in the Palisades. So I know what it's like to have a crappy mayor in your life. Terrible. Right. And I think a lot of times a lot of voters I hear say, oh, I'm not involved in politics. Politics is involved in you because I can tell you that any person in the Pacific Palisades who lost their home, their mayor is the reason they lost their home. Their governor is the reason they lost their home. So it's really important that we elect a good mayor in the city I love most, which is New York City. We will get to that. But tell me about your life now. So your house burned down. I'm sorry. It's horrible. You got kids too, right? Yeah, I have three teenagers. Oh my God. So, where do you live now? So I live in Los Angeles. I'm back here every month, at least, for work. And my heart is New York. I live in a house. I live in a rental. We live in a rental in a totally different part of Los Angeles now. And the craziest part is our community disappeared. So it wasn't just our house. You know, like one of my daughters said to me, we lost every place we've ever had a childhood memory. Wow. It's like Pompeii. The schools burned down. The schools burned down. The schools burned down. Our dentist's office burned down. Oh. Every single thing that was part of your daily life is gone. |
| 4:14.9 | And there's really no precedent for it in the U.S. |
| 4:18.0 | It's really impossible to sort of conceive of. |
