Hey everybody! And welcome to Short Stories for Kids! Now on today's episode, we have

a really special request from Sammy. And you know, Sammy lives in Australia. How cool

is that? I would love to go to Australia, Sammy, so hopefully one day I'll be able to.

And Sammy would love a story about three best friends, an alligator named Sam, a T-Rex

named Riyu, and a squid named Jude, and they live in ancient candy world. Well, I hope

you enjoy this story, Sammy, and everybody else too. Here goes!

Once upon a time, there was an old world of candy. There were mountains of rock sugar,

rivers of sweet fruit water, and all kinds of chocolate trees. Three best friends lived

in the candy world. Sam, the alligator, Riyu, the Trianosaurus Rex, and Jude, the squid

who could walk on land, as well as swim in the fizzy pop oceans. One day, Sam, the alligator

was crawling along the sweet water river bank and drinking from the water. Today, it tasted

like strawberry and cherry. He heard a stump, stump, stump, and looked over to see Riyu the

Trianosaurus Rex sniffing the air nearby.

Is there trouble, as Sam?

I'm not sure, said Riyu, snorting in the sweet fresh air of the morning.

But I've got a feeling there's going to be a problem.

Let's go ask Jude, said Sam, so Sam and Riyu walked over the hill and down to the sherbet

sandbank that led to the fizzy pop ocean. Sam felt something beneath his belly, which

he kept very close to the ground, and he thought he saw the grains of sand move a little.

Jude!

Riyu, making many birds in the nearby trees fly away and fright. The fizzy pop sea rippled

like a whirlpool, and up from the water came a squid's head. Jude waved his tentacles
