Welcome to Fitstog Radio. I'm sitting in the back house in Los Angeles. You usually have

a house behind your house. Otherwise known as the Chateau de Bao-Wau. Maybe you got in trouble

with the wife. Maybe you get relegated to the back. That's not me. I just come back here to podcast

and masturbate. That's it. Sometimes at the same time, those are the highest rated episodes.

I am just back from Portland, Oregon. Man, was that fun. God damn, I love that helium comedy club.

Packed them in. Thank you for coming out people. When you come out, you have to understand

something. When you come out and you bring your friends, I hit bonuses. I come home with a

little extra cash and it puts a big smile on my face. Thanks for showing up and thanks to the great

comics that I worked with James and Katie Hughes, whose very funny comic out of Atlanta. We had fun.

I know I was watching her. I love watching stand-ups I haven't seen before that are really good.

It's usually somebody that's not from LA or New York because I've already seen all those comics.

You go on the road and you work with somebody new and you're just so impressed.

I'm watching her. But then you also, when you watch too much comedy, it starts to dissolve.

The lines dissolve and it starts to get existential. When you do five shows in a weekend and you

start hearing the same jokes, then you start hearing mechanics. In other words, you hear the joke

said and I'm in the green room so I'm not watching her. I'm listening and I can hear the audience laugh

at what she said. I know what she's going to say because I've heard her say it now five times.

Then you start to get weird. You realize that comedy is a transaction. It's like a business

transaction. We give you something. The comedian gives you something, the crowd. Then you pay us.

It's like, here's the product. Here's some thoughts that I have that came to me that I crafted,

that I've practiced at other shows and I'm going to say them. I'm going to deliver them to you.

Then the payment is made and the payment can be a little or a lot, depending on the joke.
