This week, I was joined by the government's higher education minister, Sam Jima,

and Labour's shadow chief secretary to the Treasury, Peter Dowd.

And after the attempted murder of a former Russian agent on British soil this week,

we had plenty to talk about. This week has been, relatively speaking, quite a quiet one in politics.

The news instead has been dominated by the attempted murder of a Russian spy and his daughter

in the Wiltshire City of Salisbury.

Sergei Scripple, a 66-year-old former Russian military officer,

was found collapsed on a bench with his daughter, Yulia, who's 33.

Both had been exposed to a rare nerve agent.

Now, Mr Scripple came to Britain as part of a spy swap deal

after he'd been imprisoned in his home country

for passing secrets to the British intelligence services.

His background and the nature of his death drew very obvious comparisons with the murder of Alexander Litvinenko,
