I'm on the phone with Brian, and today we're going to be talking about the 2019 British

horror film, St. Maud, directed by Rose Glass, starring Morphid, Clark, and Jennifer Ely.

In this film, a hospice nurse goes to extremes to save the soul of her patient.

Brian, this one, I thought, kicked off this year with like a pretty high acclaim and high ratings.

Was this on your radar at all?

Yeah, it was.

I feel like it was really hyped up.

And then sometimes with these movies, the hype is so big.

And then it comes out and it's just like a little bit of a fizzle.

Like either not as many people see it as we're intending to or people

see it and don't have much to say. Yep. I don't know. Did you feel that way? I think things are

a little bit weird post-COVID anyway because people end up like kind of watching things at

different times or like, oh, that's out. I didn't even realize it was out. Yeah, yeah. No, exactly. I feel like there's a big

buildup, a lot of noise about it, and then it just kind of went dark and didn't hear about it. And

yeah, maybe you're right. Maybe it is that COVID thing. And just distributing movies at like a

large scale obviously is like pretty impossible, uh, or it was impossible the last few months. So that could be it. You think not a lot of people probably saw this one then?

I can't, I think people are like gradually seeing it, but there wasn't like that whole
