What's up Buck?

Nothing much, man.

You know, thanks for coming on the podcast.

Where's the name Buck come from?

It was an old Army nickname that I got when I was just a private.

And then it stuck forever.

And for even a long time of my career

people didn't know what my real name was like I had like a ward write-ups that would just

say like sergeant buck and I was like it's not my real name actually you're like

what and I was like what everybody called you that I was like yeah I know it's crazy but

that's a nickname so yeah I was listening to an interview before this that you did, and you said, I don't think of myself as a writer. I'm just buck. And I kind of appreciated that.

Yeah, I kind of, the Instagram handle, like, was a joke for like a really long time.

And then, like, as my writing career and, like, I became more popular. Like, you know how it is. Like, when you're a writer, like, people always like to compare you to, like, other writers, because it's just a natural thing people do. I was like, nah, dude, I'm, I'm just bug, dude. I love that.

I love that.

Have you, can you think of any writers off the top of your head who people have compared you to? I get Mikowski a lot. Oh, nice. Yeah. You know, I get, uh, Bikowski's my main one. People compare me to a lot. But then like I get sent a lot of like Hemingway stuff you know just because I travel and I adventure and I'm friends with like the family and stuff I'm always

feel like super weird about that because I am friends with the family with the Hemingway family yeah I mean

his great grandson Patrick are like pretty close friends.

We went to Africa together last November to go safari hunting, and we've been friends

for damn near like five years now.

Oh, that's cool.
