Summary

I’ve got a fist-full of questions sent in from my Patreon supporters, some of which I answer here.

Questions addressed in this public podcast:

Can I make a scriptural case for Christian Universalism?

What do I think about asexuality, demisexuality, graysexuality?

Is the debate about same-sex marriage kind of like the debate about women in church leadership?

It seems like there’s a 50/50 chance that my baby daughter will have gender dysphoria–is that true?

Can I recommend any good books on sex and marriage?

And will we have memories of earth in our resurrected bodies?

I spent a lot of time this morning working through these questions and I'm like,

0:03.1

oh man, I think every single one of these is going to make somebody upset somewhere.

0:10.0

And part of me, okay, here's my honesty. Part of me was like, do I really want to publicly

0:16.4

talk about this stuff and say things? And I know some people are going to find offensive.

0:20.4

And I almost self-sensured myself. Like, let's just keep this private.

0:26.3

My Patreon supporters are, you know, more forgiving than the public. So if I say something

0:30.0

that somebody is like, like, ah, whatever, that's, you know, that's why we like supporting

0:33.5

your ministry. So whatever. Publicly, you know, not such, I don't have this kind of commitment.

0:38.0

But then I was like, wait a minute. The whole nature of theologian era is giving yourself

0:43.1

freedom to think freely, to speak, to not have 100% refined thoughts on everything coming

0:49.6

your way before you open your mouth to even think out loud through a certain question. And so,

0:55.0

at the risk of offending some of you or maybe raising questions in your mind, I'm just going to

1:00.0

dive in. I'm not going to self-sensure. I'm going to answer these questions as honestly,

1:06.0

as graciously, as thoughtfully as I can, and let the chips fall where they may.

1:19.8

Hello, friends. Welcome back to another episode of Theology in the Raw. If you have not heard yet,

1:25.2

the video recording of the previous theology in the raw exiles of Babylon conference is available

1:32.4

for purchase. If you go to theology in the raw.com, you can find out all the information on how to

1:37.8

purchase the videos from the conference. We broke it down into four sessions. I forget the exact

1:44.0

title. Something like politics, unity of the church, one session, race and racism is another session,

1:49.7

sexuality and gender and other session. And then the dialogical debate on the nature of hell is

1:54.6

another session. You can purchase all four, and I think you get a discount if you do all four,

1:59.6

or you can purchase them individually. So if you just want to, for instance,
