Memorial Day weekend, 1996, in San Luis Obispo, California.

The students at California Polytechnic State University are flooding out of the campus for the extended weekend.

But not all of the students.

19-year-old freshman, Kristen Smart, sticks around to do some partying with friends.

At around 2am on May 25, she leaves a party with three friends and heads back to her dorm room.

The group dwindles and Kristen is last seen being escorted by a guy named Paul Flores.

And she's never been seen again.

Now, 24 years later, her case still remains unsolved.

Musician Chris Lambert aims to change that.

Two years ago, Chris embarked on a mission to create an investigative documentary about Kristen's case.

Which led him instead to creating one of the most well put together podcasts that I've ever heard.

Chris created your own backyard podcast and has breathed new life into this tragic cold case.
