I'm at the Wiltas Rich, just outside Alicante, just at the bottom of the final climb today.

A rare Scottish victory in a grand tour today, but we'll get onto that a bit later on.

Well Daniel, you're at the foot of the climb now and obviously fans were not allowed up there.

It looked absolutely spectacular, very, very tough indeed.

You drove up it earlier, didn't you, you posted a video driving up the climb.

What was it like up there and what was the road like and what was it like at the top?

Well it was really, it was a bit of a throwback to last year and the Covid season,

the three grand tours last year when we didn't really have any spectators on any of the mountain top finishes in three major tours because of Covid.

This year I think as we discussed yesterday or today, there was going to be no crowds on the balcony of the Alicante climb because the risk of forest fires.

We also talked about yesterday the road having been newly tarmed at, it was really more like a bike path.

But a beautiful climb if you ever find yourself in the area and you're perfect for a road bike.
